Charlie Sheen Will Plead Guilty To Assaulting Wife, Won't Serve Jail Time

  • Charlie Sheen is due in court today and his lawyer says he’ll plead guilty to misdemeanor assault against Brooke Mueller. However thanks to a plea deal, he won’t serve any time.
  • The deal is said to involve prosecutors dropping the felony charges and Charlie serving 30 days in jail for the Christmas Day incident. However, TMZ reports that he won’t actually spend any time behind bars. Instead, his sentence will be “administered and executed at Promises.” [AP, TMZ]
  • Plus, since he already spent a few weeks at the Malibu rehab center earlier this year, he’ll get credit for “time served” and be allowed to leave immediately after checking in. [TMZ]
  • Lindsay Lohan is “depressed” and still doesn’t think she needs to be in rehab. “Lindsay is very upset that the judge ordered her to go straight to rehab,” added the source. “[Lindsay] feels that she deserved to spend a day with her family after she behaved well in jail.” [People]
  • Taxpayers won’t have to foot the bill for Lindsay‘s stay in rehab. Lindsay will have to pay, but her heath insurance may cover it. [TMZ]
  • Lindsay‘s lawyer shot down a TMZ story from this weekend saying, “I have never received any information from any source which asserts that Ms. Lohan is bipolar or uses methamphetamine or that it is her ‘drug of choice.'” [E!]
  • Dina Lohan is making sure Lindsay still has a job when she gets out of rehab. Inferno producer Chris Hanley explains, “Lindsay’s mother called the director yesterday concerned that there was some truth to the statements. These stories are completely unfounded and untrue: the producers have been, and continue to be committed to Lindsay in this lead role and are confident that there is no actress that can achieve the dramatic level we require of this role other than Lindsay.” [E!]
  • Dina “broke her silence” to Radar, saying “I was finally able to hug my daughter [last night] after two long weeks of speaking to her from behind a glass wall. Lindsay is doing well, and is appreciative of the hundreds of well-wishers she has received.” [Radar]

  • According to a Russian newspaper, Oksana Grigorieva says she saw Mel Gibson hit his son in the head at a hockey game when he was 9-years-old. Another source claims Mel once threw a TV at his ex-wife Robyn. [Radar]
