Fun fact: a member of the famous “Rosie the Riveter” brigade immortalized in wartime (let’s be honest) propaganda posters is not only still alive, but, at age 93, she’s still riveting. Or she’s overseeing the robot peon that’s riveting. Either way, Elinor Otto seems pretty awesome.
According to a brief segment on Today, Otto was a member of the group that helped put women to work making airplanes so America could win World War II (USA! USA!). She’s still doing basically the same thing today, and doesn’t plan on retiring from her gig assembling Boeing C-17 cargo planes.
