Or at least that’s what a newly blonde Anne Hathaway wants in the forthcoming Serenity.
Serenity, which comes out in October, is about a fishing boat captain named Baker Dill (McConaughey) whose ex-wife (Hathaway) shows up again one day with a small request: to kill her abusive new husband. It already reminds me of pulpy, ’90s thrillers where picture-perfect, secretly broken marriages are a minefield a la A Perfect Murder, Double Jeopardy, or Sleeping With the Enemy, but this movie might be potentially weirder, as it’s clear from the trailer that McConaughey’s world isn’t what it seems to be at first glance? And, as you know, we take shark cinema deathly seriously at Jezebel, so we’ll obviously be on the look out for any damaging portrayals of blood-thirsty sharks.
