An official in Michigan running for a seat on the Republican National Committee has published a bizarre open letter calling for a purge of gay members of the Grand Old Party.
Mary Helen Sears, the vice-chair, 1st District of Michigan’s Schoolcraft County’s Republican Party, argues in the letter the Republican Party was founded on Christian principles and an opposition to slavery.
She is particularly critical of the idea of the “big tent,” approach to forming political parties, an idea she attributes to former US President Ronald Reagan (which she misspells).
Looking at our history we see that the party was built around a set of ideas agreed upon by the party members. The tent owners had made the first tent. The fabric of that tent was built on the idea that, “All men are CREATED equal, that they are endowed by their CREATOR with certain inalienable rights…”
Where would they ever get a notion that all men are CREATED equal? You will certainly not find that in Darwin’s view of the world, which is being taught to our gullible children. His view gave rise to Hitler’s Third Reich, Mussolini’s Italy and Stalin’s Russia. No, we find this idea in the pages of the Holy Bible. God’s Word teaches that we are a created being, fallen from Grace but not forgotten by a long suffering God. A quick walk around DC will prove without a doubt that our Country was steeped in Christianity and so was the founding principles of the Republican Party.
Wait, what? “Social Darwinism” is something of a misnomer, not to mention an egregious misapplication of the theory of evolution (and not something Darwin would have been particularly pleased about). While it is true there are some pretty fucked up things the Nazis, the Italian Fascists, and the Soviets did in the name of science (also, America? Not off the hook, sorry), that isn’t a reflection on a perfectly sound scientific theory. And theory in the scientific sense is not just some random idea people think might be an answer—the scientific method is rigorously applied through observation and experiment. When we talk of scientific theories, we talk about that which we are reasonably certain actually exists.
Also Washington DC is far more of an ode to Freemasonry than it is to Christianity—Freemasonry being pretty soundly deist with the “architect” or “builder” being more akin to the deist “watchmaker” than it is to some old dude in the sky. And the GOP wasn’t founded until halfway through the 19th century…
Our party is suffering the cancerous effects of the Progressive school system…Our young Republicans want us to put away the old thinking of Marriage and Life. Adopt a more open attitude, accept who they are, stop the hate speech, blah, blah, blah. Yes, they have learned their lessons well. The problem is it was the wrong lesson.
Yes, because common human decency is the wrong lesson and just plain, “blah, blah, blah.” You’ve really nailed it, Vice-Chair Sears. Good job. What is your next point?
Marriage is a covenant between a man and a woman. It is a reflection of God and his Church. The promise that when this horror show we call life is over, we will once again be reunited with the God of this Universe. The joining of two men or two women is a perversion of this Covenant and a direct affront to God.

Are we there my friends? Are we at the precipice ready to throw away the founding principles of this country? Are we really going to vote against God? To me there is no choice, I choose Him. As my father’s before me, I believe, without Him and his Laws we are doomed.
Vote against God? Yes, because last time I checked the US constitution there was article I.V, right below the description of Congress, but before the President of the United States which says, “God is an integral part of this political system, He runs this game.” Oh, wait, I’m sorry, that’s not in my copy, but you know what is? “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion…”
