Not necessarily, but Gwyneth’s talking again, this time in the latest issue of Bazaar. The piece (inexplicably titled “Myth Vs. Reality”) is bland, though we do learn that Gwynnie knows how to “wryly snap a breadstick.” And there’s something else!
Amidst the predictable banter about her diet and weight and workout routine (seriously, are these the only projects she has to promote these days?), there is one interesting tidbit, though it has nothing to do with Gwyneth herself. As she’s lamenting the unique challenges of being a working mother named Gwyneth Paltrow, she inadvertently lets it slip that her buddy Kate Winslet was in ruins:
“I don’t know how people do it. I was just at a photo shoot with Kate Winslet, and I was like, ‘How the fuck do you do this? I don’t understand.’ Kate said, ‘I know, it doesn’t work. Everyone falls apart.'”
Granted, Paltrow gave this interview months ago (thanks to the timely schedule of magazine publishing) and surely didn’t intend to leak details of a marriage in crisis — hell, she might not have even put it together that there a problem. But in the world of celebrity-breakup post-game analysis, this is more revealing than anything Winslet herself could say, particularly because it comes to us secondhand. Celebrities gossiping about celebrities! Money shot!
We’ll leave it to the professionals to report out the backstory about why Gwyneth gave this quote. We bet she wanted to sell Kate out after they had a nasty row over a recipe for tempeh dumplings.
