Hark! The Era of Tinder Dudes Posing With Tigers May Come to an End

Latest

Bad news for New York dudes on dating sites and apps who like to spice things up and set themselves apart by posing with big and probably sedated cats: you may have to legally cut that shit out. I mean, you’re more than welcome to at any time, but soon it may be law.

New legislation introduced by Manhattan Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal aims to improve safety at events like traveling circuses and fairs where people can get face to face with a lion or tiger by banning people from posing for photos while touching tigers. That includes hugging them, holding them, petting them, and kissing them. While Rosenthal states the law is in response to the 15 instances in which a tiger escaped or injured New Yorkers, she does understand the impact it would have on the Tinder Tiger Bros. According to NY Post:

“They can still pose with bears and monkeys,” the assemblywoman said. “They just have to take big cats off their list.”

The legislation, which would deal fines up to $500, would (thank goddess) put a real damper on the Dudes with Tigers Who Make The Obligatory “Pussy” Joke scene (which seems to be an off-shoot of the Dudes on Boats Who Make The “I’m on a Boat” reference).

The bill was passed by the State Senate and Assembly, and now its fate rests in the hands of Governor Cuomo. Now bros everywhere will have to find something else that can instantly add a touch of exotic to themselves. Llamas anyone?
