Hillary States the Obvious: Religion Is Hampering Abortion Access
Latest
At last week’s Women in the World Summit in New York City, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton dug into why women around the world can’t seem to get full access to abortion—reductive religious beliefs.

During her keynote address last Thursday, Clinton made this salient point, via The Hill:
“Far too many women are still denied critical access to reproductive health care and safe childbirth. All the laws we’ve passed don’t count for much if they’re not enforced,” Clinton said.
“Rights have to exist in practice — not just on paper,” Clinton argued. “Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will. And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.”
Clinton’s not wrong. If I had a dollar for every anti-abortion protestor whose listened to too much Family Life Radio and decided that legal abortion is against the will of God—I’m a Christian by the way—I’d be richer than Warren Buffett.
