Yesterday the TY company claimed that its new dolls, Sweet Sasha and Marvelous Malia, were not named after the president’s daughters, but Michelle Obama isn’t buying it.
A spokeswoman for Michelle told chicagobusiness.com that “we believe it is inappropriate to use young private citizens for marketing purposes.” Ty responded by saying that although the dolls were created with the Obama daughters in mind, they “were not designed to look like any living person.” The dolls in question are part of a TyGirlz line that includes dolls named Lindsay, Britney, Paris, Hillary and Jenna (but no Barbara).
