Today on Oprah, the cast of The Color Purple reunited for the first time to mark the film’s 25th anniversary. But before everyone else came out, Whoopi and O sat down to reveal why they hadn’t spoken in years.
The two women hadn’t had a relationship after making the movie, but they reconnected this summer (in Tyler Perry’s kitchen) when Whoopi confronted Oprah, asking her if she’d every “done anything” to her that pissed her off. God, what I wouldn’t give to have been a fly on the wall at that exact moment. Anyway, they patched things up, and cried while doing so.
