Teen Mom 2's Leah Officially Files For Divorce

Despite a Twitter denial from Teen Mom 2‘s Kailyn Lowry, her co-stars Leah Messer and Corey Simms are indeed getting divorced. That means In Touch and OK! were right this week, so be on the lookout for locusts and frogs falling from the sky.

We don’t know if, as OK! reported, a $19,000 truck is at the heart of their dispute, but the entry “Leah Messer Simms from Corey Simms” appears on a list of people who filed for divorce between April 8 and 15 in the West Virginia Gazette. As Crushable notes, they’ve been married for six months, though their wedding only appeared on MTV about three weeks ago. That means they may have been lying when they told Dr. Drew everything was hunky-dory — the horror!

You see, Teen Mom 2 needed a good finale episode, and the only things people love as much as babies (and particularly twins) are weddings. Breakups are good too, but MTV is saving all that drama for season two. Today TMZ posted a photo of MTV cameras filming Leah crying to a friend on the phone while sitting under a tree and reading divorce papers, like you do. While we know that the odds are stacked against the teen parents of twins, especially when one has special needs, we still hoped that they would make it. Maybe we were just manipulated by MTV’s editors, but Corey and Leah’s seemingly-sweet relationship was often the only break from tales of verbal and emotional abuse on Teen Mom 2.
