The Hills' Final Season: "Nothing Stays The Same Forever"
LatestThe trailer for The Hills‘ sixth and final season claims that “nothing stays the same forever.” We’re thinking it’s a reference to Heidi’s face, whose drastic change seems to be a major plot point for the show.
While the still of this trailer makes it seem as though Spencer is throwing a temper tantrum in the middle of Madame Tussauds, he’s actually just screaming about some bullshit while his wife looks on, unable to change her expression. Oddly, this season seems to be based a little bit more on reality than previous ones. In addition to the drama of the headline-making procedures that created Heidi 3.0 (that’s what she’s calling herself), the show will also touch on Spencer’s new-found sensitivity, and Kristin Cavallari‘s rumored coke problem. (In one scene, when her friends tell her that they hear that she’s being doing drugs, she doesn’t deny drug use, but instead says, “I’ve never had an issue with anything,” meaning, “Yeah, I party. So?”)
However, Heidi and Spencer are still hamming it up for the cameras, faking a divorce threat, which Heidi has since described as, “I was just being dramatic.”
The first half of the trailer—which I didn’t include, but can be viewed here—shows highlights from the early years of the show. (“You know what you did!” and “He’s a sucky person!” naturally made it in there.) It’s so bizarre, and frankly sad, to see how Heidi was looked when she first moved to L.A.
In the scene when she’s crying to her mother, she begins the sentence, “That’s why it’s really hard for me to…” and I thought she’d finish it with “cry,” because it does look like she’s having difficulty with it, compared to previous efforts.
Last but not least, this was the best part of the whole trailer.
