Maddie and Megan Dursley, of Jezebel podcast DirtCast, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much. They were the last people you’d expect to be involved in anything strange or mysterious, because they just didn’t hold with such nonsense.
Except, of course, that they do hold with such nonsense, and have done so now for two decades. This year marks the twentieth anniversary of the US publication of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, a release that turned it from a book into a phenomenon.
In this week’s episode, the witches/trash racoons Maddie and Megan are joined by wizards/hosts of the podcast“New Wizards” Josh Nalven and Aaron Horton to discuss all things Potter, from favorite books to least favorite characters, little-known cast controversies to controversial opinions (like being glad that Dobby’s dead). They also discuss J.K. Rowling’s retroactive “woke” tweets as well as just how rich we’ve all made her, Maddie especially.
In this week’s Dirtiest Dirt: Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra got married, the “thank u, next” video, and Mr. Big lives, according to a man with no vested interest.
DirtCast has a live show coming up on January 13 at the Bell House in Brooklyn! Buy a ticket, meet our special guest, have a drink with us, prove Maddie wrong.
DirtCast can be found on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, Google Play, NPR One and iHeart Media.
