Kellyanne Conway (bad, fascist) has decided to go after Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (cool, wants you to have healthcare). On Tuesday on Fox News, Conway, unprompted, called Ocasio-Cortez “really embarrassing” and a “29-year-old congresswoman who doesn’t seem to know much about anything.” To which I say: You really wanna do this?
Conway was apparently responding to a tweet in which Ocasio-Cortez echoes Representative Barbara Lee’s call for White House Chief of Staff John Kelly to apologize to Congresswoman Frederica Wilson after lying about her to the national media. Since then, the Miami Herald reports that Wilson has “received death threats and nooses in the mail.”
Conway just really went for it: “For her to even use a slur against him yesterday—and I won’t repeat her name or the slur—but let me stand up for General John Kelly. He’s done a magnificent job for this country for almost 50 years and that includes here at the White House as our chief of staff for about a year and a half.”
The “slur” that Conway is alluding here is Ocasio-Cortez calling him a liar? A coward? His name, John Kelly?
It seems that she is trying to lie by implication about what Ocasio-Cortez actually said. Makes one wonder why Conway—along with the rest of the Republican establishment—could possibly be on edge about a young, popular progressive politician who isn’t afraid to stand up for herself and her constituents.
