Adele Wins Cash After Suing Paparazzi for Photographing Her Son

Welcome to Celebrities Strike Back at the Paps, featuring Grammy winner Adele. She and her toddler Angelo took overzealous paparazzi to the court and won an undisclosed five-figure sum. $10,000, $50,000, $99,000? Who knows the exact number but the ruling is a step toward famous babies growing up in the privacy of their own homes.

According to the Daily News, Adele’s lawyer Jenny Afia says photographers snapped pictures of private family moments that included images of the singer’s son. Like any sane parent who wants to raise a sane children, the singer hoped to shield her baby, who’s not even two years old yet, from the limelight and avoid him becoming “public property.” With her win, the singer has officially joined the ranks of celebrities like Halle Berry, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard who’ve crusaded against the paps in the name of their families’ privacy.

Said Adele via Afia:

“It is a matter of profound sadness that many of his milestone moments, such as his first family outing and his first trip to playgroup, were photographed and published worldwide expressly against his family’s wishes.”

Corbis photo agency is the evil snooper in Adele’s case and their settlement funds will be put into a trust for Angleo, along with the promise not to release any more of the child’s images.
