Cell Phone And Sperm Don't Necessarily Mix

Latest

Let’s take a break from debating whether or not cell phones are giving us brain damage to worry about the possibility that they’re making men’s balls go haywire. A recent study found that the electromagnetic waves emitted by cell phones increase the number of cells in the testes that produce testosterone (that’s good!), but they also lower levels of luteinizing hormone secreted by the pituitary gland (that’s bad). It’s also possible that the waves are blocking the production of a form of testosterone associated with sperm production and fertility. The doctors say more research is needed, but dudes should feel free to start freaking out about the amount of time they spend on their phones.
