Groom Causes Brawl After Groping Pregnant Bartender on His Wedding Night
Weddings are probably the most common way for newlyweds to drunkenly embarrass themselves before all of their loved ones, but one belligerent groom definitely took that tradition too far. A wedding in Pittsburgh ended with fisticuffs and then handcuffs after the newlywed groom continuously felt up pregnant bartender throughout the night and tried to force alcohol down her throat.
The brawl went down in the wee hours of Monday morning aboard the Gateway Clipper, Pittsburgh’s premiere cruise service. After a night of enduring “handsy” harassment from 33-year-old newlywed Mark Williams, and yes, his attempt to force alcohol down her throat, the bartender called her boyfriend to pick her up when the boat docked around 1 am. The boyfriend confronted Williams upon arriving, and a physical altercation broke out. Via CBS Pittsburgh:
Police say Williams’ brother, David Williams, 35, eventually got involved and became aggressive with police.
A fourth man, Brian Taylor, 31, punched his hand through the front passenger window of a car nearby. He was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital for treatment.
…
Mark Williams, David Williams and Taylor were arrested and taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
They spent the night in jail and the groom left arm in arm with his new wife. But funny story: Brian Taylor is a member of the Stowe Rocks School board, and the groom’s brother David Williams is a Pennsylvania State Police trooper (off-duty at the time). The trooper faces charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and obstructing law enforcement, and police have stated that they’re conducting an internal investigation.
That sounds like an absolutely atrocious night for the poor bartender. But honestly, I cannot even imagine what was going on in the bride’s head as she watched her brand spanking new husband humiliate himself on multiple levels. On what everyone chalks up to be the happiest night of a person’s life.
