Today, Oprah invited some daytime TV talk-show legends—Ricki Lake, Sally Jesse, Geraldo, Donahue, Montel—to share their experiences of working in the genre. This also provided a great opportunity for Oprah to rub their faces in her ratings.
Now that they are out of the biz, it was interesting to hear their take on having to compete with a powerhouse like The Oprah Winfrey Show. Ricki Lake said that she just wanted to be Oprah, and a salty Sally Jesse chimed in with, “Yeah, and have your money.”
