Oprah Uses Harvard Commencement to Push for Better Gun Control

Yesterday, Oprah delivered the commencement address at Harvard University where she was also being awarded with an honorary doctorate. During her speech, Forbes’ 13th most powerful woman in the world took a moment to discuss gun control — specifically background checks.
She told crowds, “We understand that the vast majority of the people in this country believe in stronger background checks because they realize we can uphold the second amendment and also reduce the violence that is robbing us of our children. They don’t have to be incompatible.”
