Republican Forgets The Words 'Birth Control' While Faking Lady Support

Latest

It’s official, this is the Week Of Fools. They are everywhere, even *sarcastic gasp* in the form of a Republican trying to remember the term for … you know, that thing that stops women from getting pregnant. They’re always up in arms about it … oh yeah, birth control!

In a debate on Thursday, (per Think Progress), Colorado Republican Rep. Mike Coffman, who is running for re-election in the 6th congressional district, was trying to toe the party line of softening the Republican demonization of The Vagina by distancing himself from personhood (which he previously supported) and ran into trouble. He couldn’t remember the words “birth control,” which is wont to happen when one is pontificating on a topic they have no earthly idea about. Then he seemed to support the SCOTUS’s recent decision regarding Hobby Lobby and things really got murky, until his team released a statement.

After the debate, Coffman’s spokesperson clarified that the candidate supports the Supreme Court’s ruling, but also supports maintaining women’s access to contraception.

What?

This makes no sense. Hobby Lobby distinctly does not support access to contraception and got their company reformed as a person made of stores just to prove it. Anyway, men who want to support women’s reproductive rights and health care because they might lose their congressional seat if they don’t are not allies. They are fools who can’t even remember the word “birth control.” Noted.
