Sex, Guys & Audiotape: "Summer Songs '99"

Remember mixed tapes? We kick off this look into a Young Man’s Soul with “Summer Songs ’99,” a mixed tape from “sensitive dude” Jake to Sarah, 18, before their first summer of college.

“Jake was like the indie dude in my super-preppy high school, and we dated for the last two years of high school,” says Sarah. “He was in a band and super-sweet.” Alas, the Thanksgiving curse struck, and now this mix is a memorial to their love. “I still play it,” she admits. Jake is now a financial analyst.
