Willow and Jaden Smith Drop Stoney Rap Track That's Not Half Bad
Latest
14-year-old Jaden Smith and his 12-year-old sister Willow Smith — spawn of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett — have released a trippy new track called “Kite.” Please note: This is not a silly, upbeat ditty with lyrics like “Now this is the story all about how/My life got flipped, turned upside down,” in the vein of Fresh Prince. It’s not even a Flo Rida-type party anthem. “Kite” owes more to Tricky than Trick Daddy.
Jaden uses his gymnastic flow to rhyme about skipping classes because jokers are slow as molasses and swears he is “fly as Aladdin.” He also dreams of finding an actress with long hair and nice skin. Willow interjects to rap/sing about seeing a face on Mars and breathes: “You wanna fly I got the kite.” Wait. Outer space, flying, trip-hop vibe? Um, are these kids making a song about getting high? Cuz this is a blunterrific jam.
