A lot of the stars at the Two Lovers premiere at Manhattan’s Landmark Sunshine Cinema yesterday looked awesome. And obviously Joaquin Phoenix looked starkers. But all this was eclipsed by Gwyneth Paltrow’s truly shocking getup.
The Good:
Helena Christensen’s relaxed, modern white is chic incarnate.
Eva Amurri’s separates work perfectly.
Vinessa Shaw makes a simple strapless bombshell hot!
Maggie Rizer reminds me why I’ll be sad to see this retro-faux-separates trend end!
Were I her mom, would I let Taylor Momsen out of the house in this? Absolutely not. But this is one case where her youth- and tights! – actually allows her to pull something off.
The Bad:
Is Byrdie Bell doing retro-grunge? It’s not working!
Wow, Tinsley Mortimer’s accessories have really sabotaged this one.
Olivia Palermo takes this one literal element too far!
If Joaquin Phoenix insists on being so aggressively eccentric, why not just go full-on Howard Hughes and not do the premiere thing?!
The Ugly:
Yup, there she blows: a getup Bai or Phoebe could wear with pride. How have the mighty fallen!
