Here Is a Clip of Paula Abdul Falling Off a Stage

I once had a writing instructor who told me to write stories about failure instead of stories about success, because failure is more relatable, and nobody wants to read about how perfect you are. So it is with that instruction firmly in mind that I report to you that Paula Abdul fell off a stage on Saturday night while performing at the at Hard Rock Live in Biloxi, Mississippi, according to TMZ. She is fine.

A show attendee told People Abdul handled the fall like a pro, because she is, of course, a pro: “She did not seem hurt at the time of the fall and still finished like a champ. She stated she was a dancer, and falls and drops she has gotten used to over the years.” This is not the first time Abdul has suffered for her art and for us, and it will not be the last. Abdul is, as I just said, a pro.

Let us note that Abdul is 56 years old, and yet she was able to dance and sing in front of hundreds of people after falling headfirst off a stage. Today I had a very mild hangover so I watched 12 hours of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and did absolutely nothing else. One of us is a failure. The other one is Paula Abdul.
