Iceland's Eurovision Song Contest Entry Is Fun, Poppy, Anti-Hate
In Depth
Pollapönk’s tune “No Prejudice” is Iceland’s 2014 entry into the long-running and very kitschy Eurovision Song Contest, and it is clearly intended to send a very strong message to Europeans about how much discrimination sucks.
The lyrics really address all sorts of different possibilities for treating people unfairly, but the music video sets up a comic book or cartoon like situation with a super-villain and what appear to be attacks on queer spaces.
It’s ridiculously catchy. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. EAR WORM TIME.
