Transatlantic Facebook Friend Saves Boy's Life

An American teenager alerted her mother and local authorities after a Facebook friend she’d been chatting with, a boy from the UK, indicated during one of their Facebook chats that he intended to kill himself.

Though the Maryland teenager didn’t have an address for the boy, the police, with the help of the British Embassy, tracked down his location; the boy, 16, had overdosed on pills but was still alive. He has since made a full recovery. [BBC]
