All of this speculation about Chris Christie’s weight — and whether or not it will affect his ability to become the next President — gives us the perfect reason to take a look back at the size, weight, and height of political candidates of the past. This Op-Chart, published in 2008 by the New York Times, does exactly that. Things learned: 17 Presidents have beat their shorter opponents, 18 presidents elected have been heavier than their opponents, and Franklin D. Roosevelt was our tallest of the modern Presidents at 6’2″.
