Even The KKK Despises The Westboro Baptist Church

You may have heard the saying, “the enemy of my enemy is my friend,” but we’ve found a case in which that doesn’t apply. On Memorial Day a few members of the Westboro Baptist Church demonstrated at Arlington National Cemetery as they’re wont to do. This time they were met by counter protesters … including some from the Ku Klux Klan.

Dennis LaBonte, who says he’s an “Imperial Wizard” of a KKK chapter, told CNN they object to the Westboro Baptist Church denigrating the troops. He said, “It’s the soldier that fought and died and gave them that right to free speech.”

Abigail Phelps, Fred Phelps’ daughter responded:

“They have no moral authority on anything … People like them say it’s white power … white supremacy. The Bible doesn’t say anywhere that it’s an abomination to be born of a certain gender or race.”

Hmm … they both make valid points here, so let’s just agree to find both of them utterly despicable.
