Mr. Incredible Is on Diaper Duty so His Wife Can Be a Hero AS IT SHOULD BE

It’s been 14 years since The Incredibles introduced us to a family of superheroes. The new trailer for The Incredibles 2 picks up right where it left off, but it definitely feels more like a movie from 2018. Mom is getting the hell out of the house while Mr. Incredible stays home and deals with the bratty kids. Finally, someone acknowledges the heroism of domesticity.

Elastigirl, voiced by Holly Hunter, has been charged with bringing superheroes back into vogue by a mysterious tycoon, all while battling The Underminer and riding a killer motorcycle. Back at the house, her hubby is struggling to teach math, read bedtime stories, and shove cookies into an infant that can teleport and change shape. You know, the usual stuff moms have to do.

This could really go either way. If we waited over a decade just to watch a man struggle with basic parenting skills or a mom feeling guilty about her career, I will be sorely disappointed. On the other hand, make that strong guy clean the toilet lol!

Fingers crossed the next trailer shows more of what Elastigirl is up to. I hope there’s a scene where she finishes the work day, but stops for a glass of wine before going home, just to unwind.
