Famous Chinese designer Guo Pei has designed all the costumes for the Kun Opera ‘Cherishing a Fragrant Companion’. The same-sex love opera, also known as Kun Opera, was written in the late-Ming/early-Qing by scholar Li Yu. Kun Opera is the oldest form of Chinese opera, evolving from the Kunshan melody, and dominated Chinese theatre from the 16th to the 18th centuries.
