The Game of Thrones Goodbyes Begin Now

Entertainment

We’ve got over a year and a half until the final season of Game of Thrones airs on HBO (sometime in late 2019). We must be patient, but we are permitted to begin crying now at the mere thought of it. As filming on its eighth season wraps, we’ll be hearing goodbyes from the cast for more than an entire year before we ever know how the series ends.

Emilia Clarke (a.k.a the great Khaleesi) wrote on Instagram Sunday night:

“Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade. It’s been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I’d be able to live and the family I’ll never stop missing.”

::Extremely loud, sad dragon screech:: It’s happening!

I’m personally a late bloomer and have watched only the first and most recent season of Game of Thrones (lol me), but I feel like I know everything about everyone and absolutely understand every part of the plot (I’m particularly enchanted with the Night King, who he is, and what makes him tick), so I feel just as sad about the show’s ending as the people who’ve watched every season. Prepare your provisions and get ready to say goodbye. In roughly 480-plus days or something like that.
