Saturday Slow Jams is one of my favorite things in life, and I can’t believe I forgot about it. POW!GRL is back and not only does this week’s edition cover the Muppet Babies theme song, but it also has a little Aaliyah reference to kick things off. Seriously, the only thing that could have made this better was if POW!GRL had a hawk or whatever raptor Aaliyah had in the “Are You That Somebody” video.
Honestly, Muppet Babies scared me as a kid. I could watch Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, and I could watch the actual Muppets Show, but there was something about Muppet Babies that just freaked me the fuck out, despite having a fabulous theme song. So, I suppose will be using this rendition as a form of desensitization.
