The best part of last night’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race wasn’t when guest judge Lily Tomlin giggled. It wasn’t the sci-fi theme and repeated use of the word Uranus. It wasn’t when Shangela threw a drink at Mimi Imfurst.

It was when Miss Stacy Lane Matthews, from Back Swamp, North Carolina, won the respect of her peers, and went from being (in their eyes) a plus-size hick to real competition. This inspired Mariah to speak eloquently about the culture, contributions, historical impact and marginalization of drag. You better work!
