The trailer for Unbroken, Angelina Jolie’s second directorial turn, doesn’t look half bad.
Her first film, In The Land of Blood and Honey, was pretty sad; this one, following the life of Louis Zamperini, Olympic track star-cum World War II prisoner of war, looks inspirational — at the end, probably, right?
As we mentioned before, Jack O’Connell — aka Cook from Skins — landed the lead role; and your boyfriend from Country Strong and Tron, Garrett Hedlund, is also part of the cast.
Unfortunately, as Vanity Fair points out, Zamperini passed away last week, at the age of 97, before he could see his life immortalized on screen. But he did get a glowing statement of friendship from Jolie, which is more than most mere mortals can say.
Unbroken opens on Christmas Day.
